EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:

The elementary school has an intramural program for the sixth grade boys and girls. The Junior-Senior High School offers a full interscholastic athletic program in boys’ and girls’ sports.  A comprehensive vocal and instrumental music program is offered in both schools.

Marion CSD provides a comprehensive educational program K-12, reflecting the academic rigor of the New York State Learning Standards and assessment system. Our goal is to have quality primary instruction but at the same time we have a system that provides academic intervention for students who need extra support. Students are offered rich and diverse learning opportunities in both academic and extra-curricular activities. Two second languages; Spanish and German are available. Staff engages in ongoing, job embedded professional development.  An induction program including mentors supports new teachers. The teacher evaluation system has been revised to support classroom excellence. Twelve full-time Special Education teachers serve the needs of students with disabilities in K-12. Approximately 90% of the graduating class attends some form of post-secondary education.
