Directory Information

Notice is hereby given that Marion Central School District No. 1 pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act declares the following as “directory information” as provided in said act, and that information relating to students may be made public if said information is in any of the following categories:

Student’s name, major field of study, participation in officially recognized activities & sports, weights & heights of members of athletic teams, honors and awards received, the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student, and photographs. This information may be included in such district publications as: district calendar, newsletter and web page.

Any parent of any student in the district, or an eligible student, may refuse to let the district release any or all of the information designated as directory information by notifying the principal of the school in which said student attends of the parent’s or eligible student’s desire that none of the above information may be released without the parent’s or eligible student’s consent, provided that such written notification is given the principal within thirty (30) days of publication of this notice.
